① Train

From Haneda Airport, there is a train line going to Shinagawa Station. The line is operated by KEIKYU.

Ticket is \330 to Shinagawa Station. You can also buy ticket that you can transfer to JR lines. Easy access to JR Shinagawa station so if you are transfering, this may be a good option.

From the Terminal 3 arrival lobby (2F) , keep walking straight and you will see sign that says KEIKYU. If you already have mobile Suica (IC card on your smart phone) or IC card, you can tap the phone at the ticket gate. If you don’t have either of them, you can purchase “Welcome Suica” at the MONORAIL ticket vending machine. (As of August 8, 2024) . 2 vending machines on the left side sells welcome suica. On busy time, you may have to wait in queue.

If you are not getting IC card, you need to buy tickt at the vending machine.(Cash only)  There will be staffs at the machine if you need help.  It’s easy to transfer to JR lines (such as Tokyo, Shibuya, and Shinjuku stations) and if you plan to transfer, it will be easy to buy transfer ticket to final destination. There will be English fare table at the vending machine. e.g. From Haneda airport Terminal 3 to JR Shibuya, you can buy transfer ticket using vending machine and it is \510. After getting the ticket and going through ticket gate, take elvators or escalators down to platform 2. Please take the train for Shinagawa/Asakusa (NOT for Kawasaki/Yokohama). There will be English, Chinese and Korean signs as well. There are different trains: Local, Express, Limited Express(Tokkyu), Limited Express(Kaitoku), Airport Limited Express and all stop at Shinagawa Station. If you got on trains that go toward Kawasaki/Yokohama, you can change train at Keikyu Kamata (KK 11)

If you take Airport Limited Express, it takes 11 minutes. If you take local train (that stops at all the station), it  takes longer. Some trains do not go all the way to Shinagawa, in that case, you need to transfer. 品川から羽田空港へ!京急線品川駅の乗り方解説!種別・時間・料金まとめ (tansoratan.com)

② Monorail

Access to Haneda Airport   Tokyo Monorail (tokyo-monorail.co.jp)

Easier than Keikyu line is Monorail because it goes directly to Hamamatsu cho Station and it’s also fast (13 minutes). You can use IC Card, Mobile Suica or purchase ticket at the vending machines (Cash only). 

From the arrival lobby, follow the sign to the Monorail. You can purchase ticket (vending machine) near the ticket gate. 520 yen to Hamamatsu Cho Station. Easy transfer to JR Yamanote Line/JR Keihin Tohoku Line. Operation hours are 5 AM to around midnight.

From ararival gate, walk straight and you will find the ticket machines and gate on your left just past information.

Take elevator or escalator up to Platform 2 for going to the Tokyo city center.

③ Bus 

You can purchase bus ticket after you arrive. (beause you never know when you can get out the passport control.) In Haneda Terminal 3 (Most international flights) there is a bus ticket counter on the arrival lobby. (You go out and walk straight you will see the sign “Bus” on the left side) There are staffs who can speak English there. Limousine bus will go to major area/large hotels but number of service is limited. So if you choose to go by bus, please first come to the bus ticket counter to check the time and availability. To central areas, about 40 minutes to 1 hour depending on the bus stops.

For example, to Shinjuku (Keio Plaza Hotel), Busses operate from  6:15 to 23:40 from Terminal 3 (total of 80 buses leaving 10-20 minutes interval).To Shibuya area (Mark City), busses operate from 5:45 to 22:35 from Terminal 3 (total of 20 busses leaving 30 min to 2 hous  interval). To some destination, only a couple of busses in the afternoon.

Bus ticket prices varies depending on distance but to the central Tokyo mostly 700 to 1,300 yen/adult, half price for children under 12. You can use credit card at the bus ticket counter.

After you get the tickets, please go to the bust stop 5-10 minutes before departure time. Follow the sign “BUS” and go down (there are escalators and elevators) and find the bus stop. Ask for the bus stop number at the bus counter or information desk.

④ Taxi

Most expensive but easy if you have large luggage or travelling with children or elders.

From arrival lobby, walk straight past information and you will find elevators. Take the elevator down to 1st floor and walk out the door. Taxi stand is right in front of you. All the taxi at those taxi stands are licensed. There will be a staff who can help you there. It will be helpful if you have your hotel name/address at hand.

Taxi fares depends on distance (by meter) and time. Taxi meters go up when traffic is congested and takes longer time. If the traffic is smooth, the fare from Haneda to Shibuya is around 10,000yen. Also, if you use taxi after 10PM until 5 AM, 20% midnight surcharge will be included. Most taxis accept credit cards and IC cards. However, cash is the safest option in case they don’t take certain cards, or the card machine is broken. Tipping is not necessary.

⑤ Combination of ①,② or ③ and ④

You may use train/ monorail /bus to city center close to your hotel and use taxi from there. You will usually find a taxi stand in front of major hotels or nesar a station. It will be helpful if you have the address of your hotel at hand and show it to the driver for many drivers may not speak English. This can be quicker and less expensive.
