Japanese Cookbooks

Some people want to bring back a cookbook as a sourvenir. I went to one of the largest bookstores in Tokyo today and were looking at some Japanese cookbooks in English. There are so many! Here are 4 cookbooks I liked:

All 4 books are written by Japanese. They are bilingual books (English and Japanese) so if you are learning the language, this is helpful, too. They all have photos so it is easy to follow. They all have popular and basic Japanese recipes.

    • This book is the largest (and the heaviest) of the 4 books. It has more recipes and also manners.

To buy these Japanese cookbooks in English, try large bookstores such as Kinokuniya, Maruzen, or Junkudo. The largest English bookshops are Kinokuniya bookstore in Shinjuku (one connected to Takashimaya Shopping Center) and Maruzen Oazo near Tokyo Station.
